Nolan Vincent
LAKE CHARLES — Nolan Vincent, 82, passed away on June 17, 2014, in comfort of family, in a local hospital. Born on September 10, 1931 in Kaplan, LA to parents Sidney and Elina Vincent, Nolan was the youngest of four children, Huey, Lloyd and Emma Lou Vincent (Robertson). He married his high school sweetheart Lorena Bourque in 1951 and together had four children, Larry, Elina Vincent (Gott), Gaynell and Katherine. He married Jeanelle Bertrand in 1979. He was a grandfather to seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sidney Vincent, Elina Darby Vincent, 1 grandson; Jason Brady Foreman, 1 Step-son; Ricky Dupois, 2 brothers; Huey P. and Lloyd Vincent
Before full retirement, Nolan spent his life’s work in the oil field industries for major companies including Phillips 66, Shell Oil Company, LA Tank, Central Crude and Jordan Oil.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 20, at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles between the hours of 5pm-9pm.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 21, 2014, and will be held at Kaplan Baptist Church (formally Nunez Baptist Church) where he accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of twelve. Pastor & dear friend ,Dore Langley to officiate. Burial will follow in the Nunez Baptist Cemetery in Nunez.
Nolan leaves behind his memory to be cherished by his friends and family.
