Class 2A softball All-State team

The Class 2A All-State softball team has been announced, and the only member of the team from Vermilion Parish is Delcambre’s Taylor Trahan.
Trahan was selected to the first team as a pitcher.
“She was our MVP throughout the season,” Lady Panthers head coach Chad Hayes said. “She worked her butt off all season long, and is one of the main reasons we were able to have the success that we had.”
Not only is she a member of the first team All-State team, but she is also a member of the first team All-District and All-Parish teams.
Trahan over the course of the year had a record of 19-8 in the pitching circle.
She also struck out a total of 244 batters, while only allowing them to have a batting average of .176.
Her ERA on the season was an outstanding 1.56.
Not only did she lead the team in the circle but she was also a leader at the plate for the Lady Panthers.
She ranked among the leaders on her team in batting average (.363), runs scored (12), hits (33), RBIs (23), doubles (4) and home runs (3).
Trahan was one of the main reasons the Lady Panthers were able to make a trip back to the quarterfinals of the Fastpitch 56 softball playoff tournament.
Being only a junior, Trahan will have one more season at Delcambre to help lead the Lady Panthers further into the playoffs.
With her in the pitching circle and at the plate the Lady Panthers are going to be fun to watch next season.
