John Denais

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for John Oran Denais, 77, who passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 3:22 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center.
​Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, was Celebrant of the Mass.
​Burial took take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.
​John, a resident of Maurice, LA was the son of the late Leon Denais and the former Emilie Trahan.
John was a farmer for many years then went to work for Vermilion Parish Coulee Kinney Drainage District. In his spare time enjoyed working outside and tending to his farm and crawfishing.
​He is survived by his loving wife of fifty eight years, Earline Bernard Denais; his children, Marlene D. Picard and husband Bryan, Timothy J. “Spider” Denais and wife Melanie and John Keith Denais; four grandchildren, Chelsea P. Hayes and her husband Blake, Chase Picard, Bryant Denais and fiancée Lacey and Boyd Denais and his brother, Howard Lee Denais.
​He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Chase Picard, Bryant Denais, Boyd Denais, John Keith Denais, Timothy J. “Spider” Denais, Bryan Picard and Blake Hayes.
