Sandria E.J. “Candy” Christmas

ABBEVILLE — Funeral service for Ms. Sandria “Candy” Christmas will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Hope Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Hill-Rudd Cemetery in Abbeville, LA. Rev. B. K. Stevens will officiate the service.
Ms. Christmas, a resident of Abbeville, La., passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia, LA. Visitation will be at Faith Hope Baptist Church - 416 Duroq Street - Abbeville, LA beginning at 8:00 A.M. until time of service.
Candy was a great mother and grandmother. She loved God and loved serving God. Now she is singing in his heavenly choir. Candy loved cooking and helping others. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Roddrick Phills and his wife Tina; Ray O’Neal Jones, Jr. and his wife Teneha, and Toddlyn Broussard and his wife Kaniqua, all of Abbeville, LA; two daughters, Shaquanda Jones and her husband Charles, and Akeava Jones and her husband Trevis, all of Abbeville, LA; four brothers, Peter Bessard of Alexandria, LA; Thomas Bessard of Abbeville, LA; Samuel Phills, Jr. and Stanley Phills, of Houston, TX; one sister, Beulah Bessard of Abbeville, LA; and one step-brother, Cornelius Darby of Abbeville, LA; fourteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Samuel Phills, Sr. and Dorothy Bessard.
Candy will be missed, but never forgotten.
