NV tame Lady Wildcats
The North Vermilion Lady Patriots squared off against the Abbeville Lady Wildcats on Tuesday night, and they were able to pull out the victory of 11-5.
The Lady Patriots took an early 6-0 lead in the second inning, and would push that lead to 8-0 after the third inning.
At that point NV coach Richard Prejean took out starting pitcher Hannah Vidallier, who had been pitching a perfect game up to that point. Of the nine batters that Vidallier saw, she struck out five of them.
Leading the way at the plate for the Lady Patriots were Claire Meyers and Elise Vincent, who both went 2-for-2.
Meyers had a single and a double, while Vincent had two singles.
Brooke Dupuy and Demi Boudreaux both went 2-for-3 from the plate with two singles.
Alexa Lege and Angelle Domingue had six of the eight hits for the Lady Wildcats.
They both went 3-for-4 with two singles and a double.
The Lady Patriots will take their 15-5 overall record and 5-2 district record back home when they host West St. Mary this afternoon starting at 4 p.m.
The Lady Wildcats are 8-8 overall and 1-5 in district play.
They faced off against the Erath Lady Bobcats last night, and take on Notre Dame in Crowley tonight.
