Lady Patriots continue to roll

The North Vermilion Lady Patriots (11-3, 4-1) continue to roll as they beat the Abbeville Lady Wildcats (8-6, 1-4) by the final score of 11-1 in six innings in Wednesday night’s game.

The Lady Wildcats would use three pitchers in the game, and two of those in the first inning.

The Lady Patriots got a solid pitching performance from Shelby Breaux.

Breaux pitched all six innings and only allowed one run on six hits. She also struck out two Lady Wildcats.

Abbeville, unfortunately, did not have a solid day on the mound.

Emily Schexnayder started the game for Abbeville, but gave up seven runs, six earned, on four hits before she was pulled.

Holli Mire came on in relief of Schexnayder, and pitched four innings.

In her four innings, Mire allowed four runs, two earned, on five hits. She also struck out two Lady Patriots.

Angelle Domingue finished the game for the Lady Wildcats by pitching the final two innings and only allowing one hit.

Brooke Dupuy and Elise Vincent led the way for the Lady Patriots at the plate.

Dupuy went 3-for-3 with two singles and a double.

Vincent was 2-for-3 with two singles.

This game also marked the second of three straight games in three straight days.

The Lady Wildcats faced off against the Erath Lady Bobcats last night, and the North Vermilion Patriots faced off against the Kaplan Lady Pirates.
