Country singer Mark Chesnutt performs Saturday in Erath

ERATH - The town of Erath was rocking Saturday night when country singer Mark Chesnutt played at the Quality Sports Authority (QSA) Complex in Erath.
It was the first time Chesnutt, who drove from Beaumont, Texas, played in Erath.
He played from 10:30 p.m. to midnight.
Chesnutt sung his hit songs: “Too Cold at Home,” “Blame it on Texas,” “Brother Juke Box” “Bubba Shot the Juke Box” and many others. He closed with “Going through the Big D.”
Over a 24-year span, Chesnutt has had eight No. 1 hits, 10 top 10 hits and 31 top 40 hits.
Before he played, the local bands, “Vermilion” and the “Beau Young Band,” entertained the crowd of close to 3,000 people.
A huge stage was set up behind the outfield fence of one of the baseball fields. The crowd gathered in center field and listened to the bands.
Chesnutt and the two bands played for the QSA fundraiser.
“We are so blessed and thankful for the support we received this weekend,” said Granger, director of Quality Sports Authority. “It enables QSA to continue to support our kids and our communities. That is why we built this great facility.”
