Abbeville Cattle Festival wins big at state convention

The Louisiana Cattle Festival Association was a big winner at the 2014 Louisiana Association of Fairs & Festivals Convention held in Baton Rouge with several members attending.
The Association is composed of nearly 200 festivals from across the State of Louisiana.
The Louisiana Cattle Festival’s biggest winner was the 65st Louisiana Cattle Festival Queen, Victoria Sagrera, who was selected as the 2014 Louisiana Association of Fairs & Festivals Queen of Queens.
She was chosen among 69 contestants.
“It has been four years since our festival has had such an honor and we are very proud of Victoria”, stated Cattle Festival President Francis Plaisance. He said credit must be given to “Our outstanding pageant director, Denise Mire, who not only directs the Cattle Festival pageants but also the Miss Abbeville pageants.”
“We are also very proud of all the winners, and the Louisiana Cattle Festival has the distinction of being truly an award winning festival.”
The remaining awards brought home were: Division II Fair of the Year (for the fourth consecutive year); Division II Best Festival Cap; 2014 Best Group Costume, and Division II Volunteer of the Year.
The Volunteer of the Year Award was won by Louisiana Cattle Festival Secretary Jan Boudreaux for her outstanding work all year long.
“The efforts of all our members, as well as the entire Board and Staff of the Louisiana Cattle Festival, have helped to make it the success that it has become,” concluded Plaisance.
The 2014 Louisiana Cattle Festival, with its outstanding lineup of entertainment and activities, will be held October 10-12, 2014 in downtown Abbeville.
