Abbeville Kiwanis Club recognizes Harvest Time’s Baugh

The Abbeville Kiwanis Club has named Harvest Time Christian Academy’s Rebecca Baugh as its Student of the Month.
Along with a sign she can place in her front yard, Baugh received a gift card to Sonic in Abbeville. The Kiwanians presented Baugh with both during their weekly meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Baugh spoke to the club members about her plans after she graduates in May. She will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
“I plan on majoring in history and English,” Baugh told the Kiwanians. “I also plan to minor in theater arts.
“After college I would like to become a teacher.”
She said that path is being paved by one of affection for one of her majors.
“I just love history so much and one of the things you can do with it is teach it,” Baugh said.
Baugh is also involved in the choir.
“I enjoy singing,” she said.
Another interest will serve her well in both college and in her career.
“I love reading,” Baugh said. “That is pretty much all I do.”
That has helped make Baugh into one of the successful students with whom Harvest Time Principal Michelle Rupert said she is proud to work.
“She has been at Harvest Time for many years now,” Rupert said. “She is just a wonderful student and we are blessed to have her.”
