Kaplan police are searching for armed robbery suspect

The Kaplan police department is currently investigating a convenience store armed robbery. The crime took place last night at approximately 10:15 p.m. at the Econo Mart on Highway 14 . The cashier called police during the course of the actual robbery. But when officers arrived on the scene, the robber had already fled the scene. According to Police Chief Boyd Adams, the suspect in the armed robbery is wearing a black hoodie, jeans and a black baseball cap with some type of white design on the cap and white shoes. Suspect also appeared to have a goatee. He is around 6' to 6'4" tall and very slim. Police say he was was armed with a black automatic pistol.
