Erath High goes into lockdown mode after two students yell 'lockdown'

ERATH - Erath High School officials took two students yelling “lockdown” in the halls of Erath High seriously on Wednesday.
The school went into full lockdown mode after hearing the students. The Erath Police Department was called to the school and the search began throughout the school. Erath Police Chief Gerald Hebert said the rooms were searched and the school was eventually cleared.
Erath Principal Mark Turner sent out a telephone message to all EHS parents at the end the school informing them of the lockdown.
Superintendent Jerome Puyau said, “We take all threats or jokes very seriously and will follow our policy accordingly.”
