Zaunbrecher studies in France
GUEYDAN - A year or semester of study abroad can help a college student to learn a new culture, new languages, and broaden their understanding of the ways of the world.
Sarah Zaunbrecher, daughter of Matthew and Sabrina Zaunbrecher of Gueydan is doing exactly that, she is broadening her horizon and adding an adventure to her education.
Zaunbrecher is studying at the Université de Strasbourg. She has taken this unique opportunity and is studying political science, “something different something I normally wouldn’t have had the chance to study at LSU,” commented Zaunbrecher on her learning journey.
For the most part Zaunbrecher has not had trouble communicating with her fellow classmates or professors. She says, “I speak French well enough to talk to anyone in French, although no one will be mistaking me for a native speaker! But if my French fails me, almost every student I’ve met speaks English, even students who are here from Asia or Africa.” She goes on to comment, “The city I live in is actually really safe, so I’ve never been outright afraid. However, the first few weeks here were some of the most nerve-wracking weeks in my life. I’ve never had first day jitters like I did on my first day of classes here”!
Zaunbrecher keeps in touch with her parents, other family member and friends via social media and email. She also writes a blog. For those unfamiliar with blog, they are really just an old fashion journal!
