St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church to host Karlo Broussard

Mark your calendars for Tuesday Jan. 14, 2014, as Karlo Broussard, apologist and speaker for the Magis Center of Reason and Faith, will be giving a presentation at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
The event will start at 6 p.m. in the Ministries Building. The program is entitled The Examined Life: Happiness, Suffering, & the Eternal Perspective.
Broussard ponders perhaps the ultimate question of human existence: “How can an all-powerful and all-loving God allow suffering in the world?” Karlo explains how suffering without faith leads only to depression and despair; but suffering with the eternal perspective and an appropriate view of happiness leads directly to meaning and purpose which makes for a faith that is life-giving and life-transforming.
Trained by nationally known author, philosopher, and theologian Fr. Robert Spitzer S.J. Ph.D., Karlo Broussard works as a full time apologist and speaker for the Magis Center of Reason and Faith giving lectures throughout the country in the areas of intellectual evangelization.
He is a skilled apologist and adult catechist with experience in radio and television broadcasting, conference speaking, biblical seminars, audio publications and magazine articles. Karlo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Catholic Distance University as well as a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology with a concentration in catechesis and evangelization from the Augustine Institute in Denver.
