Simon and Savant unite in Holy Matrimony

Elizabeth Claire Simon and Christopher Cade Savant were united in marriage on September 14th, 2013, at one thirty in the afternoon at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. Reverend O. Joseph Breaux officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Werlyn Wade Simon of Maurice. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Werlyn John Simon and the late Mrs. Glenda Simon of Lafayette and the late Mr. Hilton Borne and Mrs. Blanche Borne of Lafayette.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Anthony Savant of Abbeville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Joseph “J.C.” Savant and Mrs. Edna Mae Savant of Kaplan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie J. Savoy of Abbeville.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory over light gold slim line gown featuring intricate lace with a beautiful high mandarin keyhole back and a fishtail train finished with scalloped edging. Swarovski crystals delicately sprinkled throughout with rich decorative beading at the empire waist. She carried a hand tied bouquet of star roses of a salmon color embellished with the bride’s paternal grandmother’s rosary.

Rose Picard, Godmother of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Catherine “C.C.” Simon, sister of the bride, Nina Savant, sister of the groom, Nicole Landry, cousin of the bride and Lacey Broussard, friend of bride. Madison Landry and Elizabeth McDaniel served as flower girls.

Jordan Frederick, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Kyle Savant, brother of the groom, Jonathan Simon, brother of the bride, Aaron Savant, cousin of the groom and Derek Broussard, friend of the groom. Braxton Savant, Godchild of the groom, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Jason Picard, uncle of the bride and Bart Savant, cousin of the groom.

Amy Simon, sister in law of the bride and Anne Baudoin, Godmother of the groom recited the readings for the ceremony.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Blacks in Abbeville.

After returning home from their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic the couple will reside in Abbeville.
