Sonnier and Broussard unite in marriage

On Saturday, June 8, 2013, Brandy Nicole Sonnier and Kendrick Ryan Broussard were united in marriage during a 6 p.m. ceremony at La Louisiane Banquet Hall in New Iberia, Louisiana. Justice of the Peace Eric Toups officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Daren and Jennifer Sonnier of Abbeville, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of the late Lenwood Sonnier of Kaplan, Louisiana, and the late Rosa Mae Viator of Abbeville. Maternal grandparents of the bride are the late Peter Charles Piazza Jr. of Abbeville and the late Virginia Sharp Piazza of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Mark and Amy Broussard of Henry, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Hazel Lange Broussard and the late Pervis J. Broussard of Henry, as well as Joseph R. Sr. and Fanny Broussard of Abbeville.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore an elegant champagne mermaid gown by Allure. The Venice lace gown was accented by a V-neckline as well as a crystal and floral embellishment at the waist. A sweep train and tiered skirt complemented the gown nicely. The bride’s dress was made complete by a lovely single tiered ivory veil. Enchanted silver embroidery embellished the edges and delicate crystal sparkled throughout. Finally, an organza flower mixed with feathers, crystals and Russian tulle finished the stylish look. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of cream garden roses, dendrobium orchids, stephanotis accented with pearl and rhinestones backed with lemon leaf foliage wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.

Elisabeth Felipe, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Tabatha Warren, sister of the bride, Brooke Ferguson and Randi Howard, cousins of the bride. Attendants wore gem-colored floor-length chiffon and charmeuse dresses with rounded necklines. They each carried a bouquet of nosegay mini calla lilies, dendrobium orchids and orange tea roses wrapped in gem ribbon.

Devin St. Germain Jr., friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Bryce Broussard and Mark Broussard, brothers of the groom, as well as Garret Broussard, cousin of the groom.

The flower girl was Oriell Broussard, niece of the groom. Serving as ring bearers were Gavin St. Germain, godchild of the groom, and Cason Bourque, godchild of the bride.

After the honeymoon in Cozumel, Mexico, the couple plans to reside in Abbeville, Louisiana.
