Abbeville police has battle arresting Levine

The Abbeville Police Department had its hands full when it answered a domestic battery phone call this past Sunday morning.

The police officers responded to a domestic battery call at the home address of 1223 South Hospital Drive.

While taking statements, they saw Adam Levine heading towards them at a “high rate of speed. The officers attempted to arrest Levine, resulting in a physical altercation.

A police officer activated his taser and gave a loud verbal command, which eventually lead the apprehension of Levine.

Levine was not through.

He was placed in the backseat of a patrol unit where he kicked the rear door, breaking the door panel. The officers moved him out of that unit and put him in another unit. According to the Abbeville police call log list, Levine resisted.

Eventually, the officers got Levine under control and brought him to the police station, where he continued to misbehave.

According to the call list, Levine spit on a police officer and broke the blinds of the window in the booking room.

When the morning was over, Levine was booked into the Vermilion Parish jail and he was charged with 10

different counts.

Here is a list: domestic battery, reckless operation, two counts of resisting arrest by force or violence, resisting an officer, criminal damage, misrepresentation during book, battery on a police officer (felony) and criminal damage. Another charge was added when police noticed he had a city court warrant for careless operations.

All of his bond totaled $3,400. It was not known if he was still in jail Monday.

The arresting officers for the police were James Martin, Colt Landry and Amanda Bolton.
