Hebert and Cormier are united in marriage

Courtney Paige Hebert and Mitchel Charles Cormier were united in Holy Matrimony during an evening ceremony on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. The 6:30 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Father Campeaux.

The bride is the daughter of Albert and Charlene Hebert of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Velma Trahan and the late Oris R. Trahan as well as Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Hebert Sr., all of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Robert and Kathy Cormier of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cormier as well as Mrs. Jean Armijo and the late Mr. Elmer Armijo, all of Abbeville.

The bride, escorted on the arm of her father, wore an ivory Maggie Sottero fitted A-line gown with a V-neckline and corset closure. Stunning in Bordeaux taffeta and rich embellished lace, the neckline was highlighted with romantic flowers across the shoulder. She chose a cathedral-length scalloped-edged veil with matching lace to complement her style. She carried a clutch bouquet of ivory garden roses accented with ostrich feathers. Keeping her loved ones close to her heart, she included in her bouquet miniature picture frames photos of her late brother-in-law, Garrett Goutierrez, and great-aunt, Rena Trahan.

Serving as Matron of Honor was Shontelle Hebert, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Mary Cormier, sister of the groom, Karinda Hebert, sister-in-law of the bride, Amy Broussard, friend of the bride, and Katie Trahan, cousin of the bride. Attendants wore copper-colored full-length satin dresses with a honey-color sewn-in sash. Junior bridesmaids were Ahndi Hebert, niece of the bride, Graci and Olivia Fabiano, cousins of the bride. They wore honey-colored satin dresses with a draped bodice, bateau-neckline and puff sleeves. Acting as flower girl for the ceremony was Aryelle Cormier, godchild of the groom. She wore a Mori Lee A-line dress of radiant taffeta with embroidered appliques on the bodice.

Serving as Best Man was Noel Cormier, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Cody Hebert, brother of the bride, Jerrod Faulk, friend of the groom, Scott Cormier and Josh Cormier, both cousins of the groom. Junior groomsmen were Ethan Goutierrez and Spence Hebert, nephews of the bride. Acting as ring bearer was Kaius Hebert, godchild of the bride. Also making his entrance was Little Master Colton Hebert, nephew of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry.

Readings were given by Tammy Ryder and Sheila Trahan, aunts of the bride, and Jeannie Cormier, aunt of the groom.

Serving as ushers were Jason Hebert, brother-in-law of the bride, Saul Hebert, nephew of the bride, Andre Clark and Brooks Bertrand, friends of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held for the happy couple at Saint Theresa Family Life Center in Abbeville.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by parents of the groom, Robert and Kathy Cormier, on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Abbeville Country Club.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Cormier plan to honeymoon in Saint Lucia. When they return, they will reside in Erath, Louisiana.
