Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in New Life Church in Abbeville for Roy Patrick Miguez, age 68, who passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at his son’s home in Abbeville.

Mr. Miguez was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Abbeville for most of his life and had been a current resident of Duson for the past ten years.

Survivors include his wife of forty eight years, Mildred Choplin Miguez of Duson; two sons, Patrick Miguez and his wife, Cynthia, of Maurice, and Steven Miguez and his wife, Erin, of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Eric, Taylor, Morgan, Maggie, Kyra Lange and her husband, Travis, Whitney Wilson and her husband, Trevor, Alan and Alexis; three great grandchildren, Cody, Cyle, and Caden Lange; two brothers, James Broussard and his wife, Barbara, of Port Arthur, and Alvin Broussard and his wife, Connie, of Maurice; three half sisters, Brenda Broussard, Olita Broussard, and Florence Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Frank Miguez and the former Louise Frederick; his biological parents, Cleveland Broussard and the former Vinace Leger; and two brothers, Cleveland Broussard and Ray Broussard.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at church.
