Merrill and Viator wed in Delcambre
Jody Lynn Merrill and Kyle Joseph Viator exchanged vows of marriage on July 31, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre. Father Herbert Bennerfield III officiated the service.
Jody is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Theresa Merrill of Henry. She is the granddaughter of J.C. and Cora Lange of Henry, Betty Merrill of Abbeville and the late Clayton Merrill.
Kyle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted and Donna Viator of Delcambre. He is the grandson of Steve and Gayle Landry of Delcambre, Fernand Viator of Delcambre and the late Vivian Viator.
The bride was escorted by her father Carl Merrill.
The bride wore a free-flowing gown of ivory chiffon. A sweetheart-shaped bodice displayed intricate embroidery and Swarovski crystals, as well as embellished spaghetti straps. Finally, chiffon fell gracefully into the slim skirt and chapel-length train.
The bride carried a clutch of silver stone roses, calla lilies and seeded eucalyptus accented with ivory satin ribbon and crystals draping at the hand.
The bride completed her look with an ivory cathedral veil, edged with Swarovski rhinestones.
The bride’s maid of honor was her cousin Amanda Lange.
The bridesmaids included cousin Claire Lange and friends Shawna Kilgore, Lyndsay Dubois and Dana Ledet.
The bride’s attendants wore one of two styles of knee-length dresses in a teal iridescent taffeta. Both dresses featured pleated straps and a bodice with delicate pleating, either asymmetrical or vertical, to the empire waist. A band of taffeta encircled the empire waist of the sheath-style dress. A gathering of taffeta at the front skirt enhanced the dress with an a-line silhouette.
The bridesmaids carried a bouquet of silver stone roses and pink carnations tied at the hand with black satin ribbon.
The flower girl was cousin of the bride Lori Lange. The ring bearer was brother of the groom Tate Viator.
The groom’s best man was his brother Trevor Viator.
The groomsmen included friends Joshua Hebert, Derek Faverino, Cody Huval and Ben Norman.
Ushers included cousin of the groom Avery Rozas and cousin of the bride Jesse Lange.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist Bridget Touchet and organist Manique Leblanc.
Readings were given by friend of the bride Kayla Gaspard and cousin of the groom Natalie Dunigan.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Shrimp Festival Building.
After a wedding trip to Hot Springs, Ark., the couple plans to reside in Lafayette.
