Wedding unites Marie and Gamel
Julianne Elise Marie and Mathew Lawrence Gamel were married in an outdoor ceremony before family and friends at the Club Continental in Orange Park, Florida, on November 21, 2009.
The bride is the daughter of Brian Marie (formerly of New Iberia, LA) and Marcelle Broussard Marie (formerly of Abbeville, LA), of Jacksonville, Florida.
The groom is the son of Frank Gamel and Ceri Decker Gamel, of Neptune Beach, Florida.
Officiating the ceremony was the honorable Judge Brad Stetson, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a natural white silk shantung taffeta gown, inspired by the iconic fashion of Grace Kelly, with a single ruffled shoulder strap cascading across her back, and with a fitted bodice that opened into a full skirt at the bottom. A vintage-inspired belt of the same material encircled her waist.
She carried a mound of white ranunculus flowers, together with her mother’s rosary and an heirloom handkerchief once belonging to a great-grandmother.
Noel Carlson and Nancy Stetson, friends of the bride, served as dual Maids of Honor.
Bridesmaids were Polly Ledet and Amanda Ledet Dupuis, cousins of the bride, and Alexis Gamel Newman and Laura Gamel, sisters of the groom.
Serving as flower-girls were Audrey Gamel, daughter of the newlyweds, and Olivia Mancheno.
The family dog, Camille, served as ring-bearer.
Ben Gamel, brother of the groom, and Chris Campbell served as dual Best Men.
Groomsmen were Mark Goodwin, cousin of the groom, and friends Liam Shanahan, Jason Barber and Nick Snyder.
A reception was held for family and friends of the couple at the Club Continental, in Orange Park, Florida.
The couple will reside in Neptune Beach, Florida.
