LeGros and Lege exchange wedding vows

St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice was the setting for the Nuptial Mass celebrating the union of Rani Claire LeGros and Korey Jude Lege in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. The Reverend O. Joseph Breaux celebrated the 1:00 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Rani is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen LeGros of Maurice. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Audrey Picard and the late Shelton C. Picard of Maurice, and Mrs. Winnie LeGros and the late Frank William LeGros Sr. of Abbeville.

Korey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenard James Lege of Maurice. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hebert of Maurice, and Mrs. Eldith Lege and the late Gordy J. Lege of Meaux.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a slim A-line ivory one-piece, strapless dress with button over zipper closure. The dress was embellished with lace cascades from the sweetheart neckline toward the tulle skirt with scalloped lace bordering the bottom hem. The bodice also featured an empire ribbon accent. The bride chose a silver comb accented with pearls and crystals to match her gown and wore a two-tiered, finger tip length veil made by her mother.

Rani carried a bouquet of red roses, miniature calla lilies, accented with hypericum berries, and greenery. The bouquet was wrapped in an ivory ribbon and closed with pearl pins. A rosary borrowed from her mother made from her maternal grandfather’s funeral roses completed the bouquet. Also borrow was a coin chosen by her paternal grandmother from her paternal grandfather’s collection.

Serving in the wedding as Maid of Honor was Ashley Hebert, friend of the bride; the Matron of Honor was Maria LeGros, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids included Aimee Bertrand, friend of the bride; and Brittany Clostio, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid included Baylee LeGros, godchild of the bride. Flower girls for the celebration were Emily Smith and Ayden Lege, both godchildren of the groom.

The bridesmaids wore a sleeveless floor length satin v-neck wine dress and carried bouquets of lilies and roses with cream colored stock throughout. The junior bridesmaid wore a satin short dress with classic boat neckline accented with the ivory sash around waist and carried a bouquet of ambiance roses with greenery. Flower girls wore silk cream colored Dupioni dresses and carried small bouquet of macarena roses with greenery.

The Best Man for the wedding was Billy Smith, friend of the groom. Groomsmen for the ceremony included Kris Lege, brother of the groom; Kasey Lege, brother of the groom, and Rob LeGros, brother of the bride. Junior groomsmen were Trebor LeGros and Tristen LeGros, both nephews of the bride. Ring Bearer for the celebration was Brennan Lege, godchild of the groom.

Serving as ushers were Derek Abshire and Brandon Denais, both friends of the bride and groom.

Readers for the celebration were Cheryl Insorellie, aunt of the groom; Frank W. LeGros Jr., godfather of the bride; and Kimberly Broussard, cousin of the bride. The offertory gives were brought up by Yvonne Broussard, aunt of the bride; Garland Lege, uncle of the groom and Tony LeGros, uncle of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Tammy Maturin, Angie Meuleman and Libby Thibodeaux.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride chose a mocha colored mock two-piece dress with pleated knit tank bodice and full charmeause skirt. A pleated knit jewel neck jacket completed the elegant look.

The groom’s mother chose a plum colored mock two-piece dress. A sheer jacket completed the ensemble.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Le Reve in Kaplan.

The bride’s cake was cut by her godmother, Elizabeth LeGros, while the groom’s cake, topped with trucks in the mud, was but by his god mother, Michelle Romero.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, TN, the couple will reside in Maurice.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kenard Lege on November 19 at their home in Maurice.
