Alexa Marceaux and Jeremy Broussard

Marceaux-Broussard to unite in holy matrimony

Once upon a time, two wise, old souls met and fell in love. This is their story.
Alexa Marie Marceaux, a self proclaimed princess of the Kingdom of Christ will marry her beloved, Jeremy Paul Broussard in December of the year 2013. Father Janise will officiate these two souls receiving the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony. The Most Holy Rosary will be prayed promptly before the Holy Mass celebration followed with dancing, entertainment and wonderful dining. All guests who have been invited are asked to dress for an evening of elegance and Christmas season cheer.
How they came to be is a beautiful story, a fairy tale; one that was in the making for most of Alexa Marie’s life. A very imaginative and very creative child, she knew she was a princess from a very early age when Christ became her best friend at the young age of 6. Her saying that she would share with youth groups throughout Louisiana was that her heavenly father was a King, so that made her a princess in the royal courts of heaven.
Alexa had dreams of becoming a wife and homeschool mother to 5 boys and 1 little princess in the rear...this dream was in full detail of twins, cooked meals every night, and always being a part of the church family. Alexa, in short, had a vision that was clear and concise. So attuned to this desire, she wrote a book (in the publishing process) about never settling for less than what you deserve and how as a daughter of Christ, women have precious hearts that long for a heart that can be filled only by the right prince, one that loves as God loves the church. She has always believed in never settling for less than what God wants for her heart and soul. Enter Jeremy Paul.
When Jeremy met Alexa, he knew immediately that she was his chosen princess. He shared that her love for God, her caring and outgoing personality was intended to bring out his best self. Her faith brought out his faith. Together, they are growing and love serving the Catholic Church in many facets of holiness.
To say that their wedding will be one of a kind would be a great injustice as Alexa and Jeremy have prayed over not only one another and the wedding party but for everyone who will attend or even hear about it. It is the hope of this couple to have a night where husbands look at their wives and realize the gift they have within their own marriage and sacrament to their spouse. The hope that single souls may find a blessing amung the crowd is always part of their prayers. As well, the dream for the children present to grow with solid foundations and to believe in the wonder and mystery of our wonderful church. Their desire is not to have the most lavish wedding but to share love within the confines of the people closet to them; a blessing of souls. More focus was placed on the celebration of the mass instead of the reception.
Participating in a private ceremony and then reception after, Alexa and Jeremy are treasuring the tradition in the Something old, Something new...but with a twist. She is using the cathedral veil of her friend, Rachel, which has been cut and changed into a fingertip veil, it covers both the something old and something new. It is something borrowed because it will be returned and the blue will be the sparkle caught in the shimmers on the stones as the clothing from their guests will reflect in the cuts of the stone of the headpiece for her veil.
Also, Alexa and Jeremy have opted to meet in the middle of the church to represent the new way they will do things and the new family that will be created as they walk to their sacrament. They have chosen Lainey Villejoin to be a junior bridesmaid that will walk alone to represent Alexa’s life as a single woman and the purity of childlike trust in God. Alexa’s sister, Angela, will walk as maid of honor with Jeremy’s best man James, his brother. They represent the old family that they both come from, the paradigms, the foundation on which they came to the celebration. Jeremy’s Godchild, Malaya will serve as an angel and walk down the aisle in prayer ringing a bell to wake the church as all guests are present to witness a miracle. Malaya represents the courts of heaven present for the mass celebration. Kyle, cousin to Alexa, will walk with Grant, Mia’s son for a special presentation cloth rather then serve as ring bearers. They represent the children they hope to one day have. The gift bearers chosen will give each of their mothers a “bed of flowers” presented by two friends Mia, who is our soon to be sister in law preparing to marry Jeremy’s brother, James. And also, Mistie, Alexa’s childhood friend and Jeremy’s real estate agent who is the reason this Cinderella moment is existing. Photographer, Emily will recall their love story. Raenell and Roxanne are bringing up the Body and Blood of Christ and chosen for the roles they played in her life growing up. Judy and Christina have jobs that are a little different from a normal wedding and involve helping with the children. They have been chosen for their great smiles and awesome hearts and they are true treasures in their lives. Two special souls have been asked to serve as altar boys, Dylan and Rees, their faith and maturity at such a young age has been a cherished characteristic and the desire to influence the faith of children is the hope for having them charged with such an important position for the Holy Mass.
Opting for less tradition, Alexa has chosen to not carry a wedding bouquet. She will be choosing to honor the Blessed Mother by carrying a rosary she made with Swaroski crystals and pearls. So instead of “throwing the bouquet” they have elected to ask all married couples to the dance floor and they will have a special presentation for a couple present asking them to use the rosary to pray for them as they enter into this new journey of their lives. Coordinators for the wedding include Alexa’s mother, Peggy Marceaux who has checked in weekly and encouraged both the progress and direction of the wedding. Ms. Tissa has also been a part of Alexa’s life since childhood and will be keeping everything on track the day of the wedding.
Also, foregoing the flowers or bows on the pews, Arleen, will be placing scripture on the pews to encourage all guests to read and remember about the wedding. In charge of music is John and complete trust has been given to him to make all of the music choices. The night of wedding, John and his wife, Carrie, will be celebrating 12 years of marriage and it is with great gratitude that Alexa and Jeremy will enjoy their gifts as well as those of others friends who will be singing and playing.
Readers for the mass were also given special consideration. Christopher is a high school friend of Alexa who God has recently crossed their paths again, He will serve as the master of ceremonies and his voice is a gift that will capture the heart. Her godmother Janice was chosen because of the role model she has always been to Alexa growing up. They also chose Belinda as the example of a pillar of faith providing ample amounts of love to both Alexa and Jeremy. Beverly was chosen as she nurtured Jeremy and Alexa from a young age using the love she has for the Blessed Mother to teach the rosary and about Holy Mother Church.
In it’s pure evidence of Alexa and Jeremy’s desire to celebrate the Mass and their wedding with those they truly love, they pray that by having a procession to begin their special Mass, it will help others remember to stand when a priest enters the room; they long to be witnesses of Christ’s love and honor Mother Mary with their lives. They pray for this mass to allow conversions of souls, to be a reminder of the love and pride that all married spouses feel towards their own beloved and to be a hope for all single individuals.
Alexa and Jeremy have forgone the norms of this world and rather than have the typical parties offered, they had a prayer service where they were both prayed over and a rosary was prayed as well to prepare them for their journey towards the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Decor for the event included lots of candles scattered throughout the home and each guest was asked to please bring a statue of The Blessed Mother or their favorite saint. A fabulous box was filled with prayer requests, favorite prayers and little words of love to be kept and prayer with throughout the years of marriage. The treasures and prayers and tears were all part of what became an amazing, holy evening led by a college friend and mentor, Kessie.
Together, Jeremy and Alexa ask for your prayers as they prepare for marriage, The wedding is simply one day, their marriage is for a lifetime. They know and understand what they are about to journey towards and know that your prayers are what will ensure a holy life. They are grateful for the moments of blessings from every prayer included with your time and thank you from the entire of their hearts.
