Heritage Manor News: Letting go and letting God

(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted by Janice Hardy, resident activity director at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.)

It is a natural instinct for us humans to try to control everything in our lives, sometimes, even in the lives of others. It is not easy to let go of children when they are grown, our job when it is time to retire and especially to let go and let God take over our lives. I think most people believe in some kind of higher power. I know I do. It’s just hard sometimes to let that higher power lead us on the path he knows is the right path. Being in control feels so good. We sometimes think we have all the answers and we can solve all the problems. But deep down inside we know that is not true. Everyone needs someone sometimes. Starting today, Easter Sunday, I will do my best to let go of whatever I feel the need to control and let God lead me where I need to go. I hope some of you will do the same. Have a safe and Happy Easter.
