Joseph Leopold Escude

Joseph Lepold Escude',age 95, of Mansura,La, died Tuesday, March 24th, 2009, at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville, La. He was the owner of Escude' Funeral Homes, was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, served as Usher for over 60 years. He was a Charter President of the Mansura Lions Club. He founded Escude' Life Insurance Co. in 1948 & Ecsude Insurance Agency in 1952. He was the owner of Escude' Memorials in Mansura. He was elected to the Mansura Centennial Court in 1960. He was served as Treasurer and Secretary for the Town of Mansura.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Escude', Sr., mother Blanche Tassin Escude', & wife Inez Grayson Escude'.

He is survived by; son, Ira Escude' and wife Linda of Mansura, son, E. Gaon Escude' and wife Jane of Mansura, daughter, Priscilla Escude Allums and husband Butch of Mansura. His 2 sisters, Jocelyn E. Lunn of Mansura & Barbara E. Lemoine of Plaucheville. He also had 11 Grandchildren; Jennifer Michel, Kim E. Hinojosa, Jill Chatelain, Holly Foster, Shawn Wilcox, Cassie Deshotels, Scott Elmer, Craig Escude', Wesley Elmer, Derrick Elmer, Ben Allums. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; Bo Elmer, Christopher Beyer, Brennan Wilcox, Camille Roy, Olivia Hinojosa, Raven Chatelain, Parker Allums, Ava Chatelain, Triston Elmer, Ethan Elmer, Jeremy Michel, Gabriel Escude’, Corinn Escude’, Sophia Deshotels, & Grant Deshotels.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Escude' Funeral Home, Mansura from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. A Rosary will be held the same day at 8 p.m. Visitation will re-open the following day at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church of Mansura, La.
