Couple weds in double ring ceremony

Ashley Manor in Baton Rouge served as the setting for a double ring ceremony uniting Aneika Dominick and Dedric Freeman, both of Baton Rouge. Reverend Norman Scott of Baton Rouge officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Cynthia Dominick of Crowley. Aneika is a graduate of Crowley High School, and earned her bachelor and master of science degrees in therapeutic recreation from the Southern University in Baton Rouge. She is currently employed as a recreational therapist with Beacon Mental Health in Baton Rouge.

The groom is the son of Daryl Freeman and Willie D. Freeman of Baton Rouge. Dedric is a graduate of Trinton High School in New Jersey and attended Tustin Community College. He is presently attending ITT Technical College, focusing on a degree in processing technology. Dedric is currently employed with Houston Wire and Cable Company.

Escorted by her father, the bride was ravishing in an off-white strapless gown of Italian satin, which featured a curved neckline with inverted gathers at the center. An elaborate detailing of pearls and crystals accented the bodice and skirt of the gown. The skirt had three attached appliques made of the same crystal and pearl detailing that flowed into the train. Her headpiece was an off-white fingertip length veil trimmed with pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of white and pink calla lilies.

Chosen as matron of honor was Alicia L. Hebert, friend of the bride, and as maid of honor was Kaliska Dominick, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Monique Bellard, Wikisha Charles, Patrice Green, Bridget Lewis, Demetricia Lewis Savoy, Katie Winfrey and Chantal P. Young, all friends of the bride.

Attendants were attired in Latte-colored strapless gowns, with a chocolate cummerbund and bow. Each carried a bouquet of pink roses mixed with pink calla lilies and pearls.

Dustin Lee, nephew of the groom; served as best man and groomsmen were Larry Anderson, Lindsay Donald, Demond Freeman, Pat Harrison, Bryant Morrison, Johnathan Savoy and Christopher Tillotson.

Serving as flower girl was Alexius Dague and Tahi Jamal Lee Foster, godchild of the bride; served as ring bearer.

Upon entering the ballroom of Ashley Manor, the guests were ushered to their seats by Lynette Heatly and Burnadette Jackson.

Participants during the ceremony were Vocalists Nancy Armstrong and Thaddus Nolan. Long-stemmed fresh roses were presented to the mother of the bride and groom and honorary mother and godmothers of the bride.

On her daughter’s special day, the mother of the bride was elegant in a beautiful tea-length, champagne lace dress by Damianou. The mother of the groom was radiant in her attire of choice. She also wore a tea-length dress. The dress was of a rich chocolate color accented with floral embroidery.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the ballroom of the manor. The Nolans also provided the entertainment at this time. The reception area was elaborately decorated for the occasion.

Each table was covered with white linen tablecloths, topped with centerpieces of fresh pink roses in a tall crystal vase. The stairway and arch was divinely decorated with pink and champagne netting, adorned with pink calla lilies.

The bride’s cake featured a three-tiered round confection trimmed in chocolate. The cake was topped with an exotic chocolate bow.

The groom’s cake was a square chocolate cake topped with fresh strawberries. Both cakes were served by the caters at Ashley Manor.

Out of town guests traveled from various parts of Indiana, Florida, and Texas and Shreveport, Lake Charles, Alexandria, and New Orleans.

Upon returning from a wedding trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, the couple will make their home in Baton Rouge.
