Kaplan four-year-old has died

KAPLAN — Samantha Babineaux and Nathaniel Trahan were arrested by Kaplan Police for the beating of Babineaux's four-year-old son.
The child has died because of his injuries.
According to Chief of Police Boyd Adams, the couple called 911 because the child was unresponsive. Acadian Ambulance brought in the 4 year old to Abrom Kaplan Hospital. Because of his condition, the toddler was air lifted to Women's and Children's Hospital in Lafayette and was listed in critical condition and put on life support.
The two are charged with first degree murder.
Babineaux is incarcerated in the Kaplan jail and Trahan was transported to the Vermilion Parish jail.
No bond has been set.
