Marksville Bicentennial court announced

Marksville's official 200th birthday party and court presentation will take place at the Paragon Casino Mari Showroom on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the "formal presentation of the court" starting at 8 p.m. This event is a celebration of Marksville's heritage and is open to the public.

Selected to be honored on the Bicentennaire Court are:

Bernice Bertrand, Judy Marie Bordelon, Eva Couvillion, Nancy Couvillion, George Alice Dupuy, Libby Dupuy, Marina Gagic, Laura Gremillion, Jacqueline Holmes, Joyce Prier, Geri Schwartzenburg, Anna Lee St. Romain, James A. Bordelon, Michael J. Bordelon, Sr., Nolan Bordelon, George Couvillion, Lloyd Dupuy, Merkel Dupuy, Glenn Goudeau, State Rep. Robert A. Johnson, Jerold Edward Knoll, District Attorney Charles Riddle, III, Brent Scallan, and Ralph Schwartzenburg.

Tickets are on sale for this event and may be purchased by contacting Roseada Mayeux at 253-5392 or 253-7077, or Eileen Brouillette at the Hypolite Bordelon Home at 253-0284. Tickets are $25 per person. Reserved and corporate tables are available at $300 per table.
