Woman dies a month after two-vehicle accident

A woman who was involved in a two-car accident a month ago died recently in a Lafayette hospital.
Sally Ann Boudreaux, 58, was buried on Thursday in Erath after succumbing to injuries on Jan. 15 on La. 82.
Boudreaux was a resident of Erath, who was a rural mail carrier for 28 years.
She was on her route on La. 82 when she was hit almost head on by a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Roland Campbell of Abbeville.
According to the State Police, Campbell was traveling on La. 82 when for no reason, went off the right side of the road. He over corrected, causing his vehicle to begin spinning toward’s the center lane.
Campbell’s vehicle hit Boudreaux’s vehicle that was heading in the opposite direction. Boudreaux’s vehicle went off the road and overturned in the ditch.
She was transported to a Lafayette hospital.
On Tuesday the State Police were contacted that she passed away.
Campbell was charged with careless operation. The State Police are still investigating the accident and more charges could be filed, depending on the result of the investigation.
