Wife allegedly stabs husband in back on streets of Kaplan
KAPLAN - A married couple’s argument turned bad when the wife allegedly stabbed her husband in the back as he walked away from his house in Kaplan.
Recently, 63-year-old Anita Allen Richard was arrested by the Kaplan Police Department and booked on attempted second degree murder charge for the alleged stabbing of her husband with a kitchen knife.
Her bond was set at $200,000, and she still remains in jail as of Thursday.
Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams did confirm the stabbing and said the two had a domestic argument. Somehow, the argument moved outside and Richard’s husband began trying to leave.
According to witnesses, said Adams, she approached her husband from behind and allegedly stabbed him on the street near their house on 709 Second Street.
Adams did not say how many times the husband was allegedly stabbed by his wife. Adams did say the knife went through his upper back and penetrated a lung, damaging the lung.
She was booked into the parish jail and her husband spent a few days in the hospital. He has since been released from the hospital.
