Vermilion Sheriff’s Office investigating burglary of construction company’s storage building

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, on December 21, 2015 at approximately 7:30 a.m. the Sheriff’s Patrol Division responded to a Burglary of storage building at a work site located on Preston Road in Abbeville.
Sheriff Couvillon says that L & R Construction of Kaplan, is working on a bridge construction project on Preston Road and the last time that they worked was on Saturday December 19, 2015.
Approximately $11,000 worth of tools were stolen which included 2- Stihl chainsaws valued at $700 each, 1 – Landmark Laser Level valued at $1,000, 1 – spectra Laser Level valued at $1,800, Grade rods valued at $200, 1 – Precision total work station valued at $3,000 and 1 – Makita gas powered saw valued at 600.00.
Sheriff Couvillon says that if anyone has information with regards to this Burglary you are urged to contact the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations division at 898-4403.
A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person and/or persons responsible for this crime.
