Vermilion Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit arrests seven

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Task Force Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
- Ernest Courville II, (dob 7-28-87) of Youngsville, arrested and charged with possession of schedule IV narcotic, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Jaylin Veney, (dob 10-31-94) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal carrying of a firearm.
- Dionte Forrest (dob 1-12-95) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, and possession with the intent to distribute a schedule IV narcotic.
- Tu Tran, (dob 8-17-76) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.
- Demetrick Bessard, (dob 4-1-80) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with Failure to appear for unauthorized use of a movable, and possession of synthetic marijuana.
- Ledario Green, (dob 7-30-84) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession of proceeds derived from drug offenses, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana
- Andrew Pratt, (dob 4-20-95), of Erath, arrested and charged possession marijuana, and possession of a prescription narcotic without a prescription.
Sheriff Couvillon would like to thank the city of Abbeville for their participation in the task force, and effort to curtail drug crimes within the parish. He would also like applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
