Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office know the name of male who was burned in SUV two weeks ago

They are not ready to release name

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office said they know the identity of one of the two bodies that was found burned in a vehicle on Claude Road two weeks ago.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon said with the help of DNA results from the Acadiana Crime Lab, the Sheriff’s Office has been able to establish the name of the male. Couvillon was not ready to release the name of the male as of Wednesday. He did say the male is not from Vermilion Parish.
“We were able to identify who the male is based on information through investigations,” said Couvillon.
As far as the female, the Sheriff’s Office is 90 percent sure of who the female is but is not ready to say until they are 100 percent sure.
The male and female found in the vehicles range in age from 30 to 40 years old.
Couvillon said detectives are searching for old blood samples of the female as a way to cross match DNA found on the burned female. He said they are hoping she had blood work taken at a doctor’s office or a hospital before she died. Until then, they will not be 100 percent sure, who she is.
Couvillon did not say if the two people knew each other. He also did not say if they were alive when the vehicle was set on fire or if they were dead before the vehicle burned.
What about a suspect? The Sheriff said they are working on finding the killer or killers.
