Vermilion Parish school system losing one principal, 10 teachers

When the new year, 2015, begins in January, the Vermilion Parish School System is losing 10 teachers - and only one is to retirement.
Recently, the School Board members received a November personnel list.
The list shows what personnel are retiring or resigning.
The resignation list continues to have the longest list of names.
Of the 12 names on the list, nine are teachers who are resigning by the end of 2014.
Luddy Herpin, the principal at Gueydan High, is filling out his retirement papers this month. Herpin is retiring as a long-time educator in the parish. Herpin is not going too far from education. In January, he will be sworn in as the new school board member in his district.
Herpin’s official last day as a principal is Jan.1, 2015.
Tina Stelly is a retiring elementary teacher at Forked Island/E/ Broussard. Her last day is Dec. 7, 2014.
Meaux Elementary Cafeteria Manager Rexine Broussard and Central Office worker Diana Frederick are both retiring. Broussard retired last month and Frederick’s final day is Jan. 17, 2015.
Because of resignations at the start of 2015, the school system will be losing nine total teachers - five of whom are elementary teachers.
School teachers retiring by the end of 2014 are:
Leslie Azemar (LeBlanc Elementary), James Belanger (Kaplan Elementary), Rita Bouillion (Eaton Park Elementary), Megan Breaux (Kaplan High), Thea Linscombe (JH Williams Middle), Brittney Miller (Herod Elementary), Tammy Pons (Eaton Park Elementary), Annie Osburn (Eaton Park Elementary), and Debbie Ribarin (Cecil Picard Elementary).
