Vermilion Parish cities left off website that ranked Louisiana cities

There is good news and bad news for Vermilion Parish when it comes to another national website ranking Louisiana cities.
First the good news.
The growing town of Youngsville is ranked as the No. 1 place to live in Louisiana, according to a news report released by homesnacks.net. The website ranked 109 Louisiana cities with a population of more than 5,000.
Youngsville, with a population of 8,172, topped the list. An average household in Youngsville makes $104,637 a year.
Youngsville is less than five miles north of Vermilion Parish.
The city of Lafayette is ranked No. 29, while Scott is No. 36.
The website also ranked the worst places to live in Louisiana.
Ponchatoula has that honor, ranked No. 109. Ville Platte is No. 108 and Rayne is No. 107.
Franklin is ranked No. 100.
Where is Abbeville, you ask?
Good question because no city in Vermilion Parish is ranked in the top 109 places to live in Louisiana. That is the bad news.
The website ranks cities around Vermilion Parish such as Crowley, Carencro, St. Martinville (No. 98), and Eunice (No. 97).
Vermilion Parish has Abbeville (12,500 population) and Kaplan (5,102 population) with populations of more than 5,000 people.
For its Louisiana list, homesnacks.net says it factored in population density, unemployment rates, median income adjusted for the cost of living, housing vacancy rates, expenditures per student and student-teacher ratios, commute times, crime and weather. The student data presumably comes from public schools only; the website doesn’t specify whether it includes private school data.
