Two attempting to evade agents among five arrested by Vermilion Sheriff’s Narcotics unit
According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
- Kimberly Broussard, (dob 6-4-92) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, accessory after the fact, and battery on a police officer. Agents questioned Broussard days earlier as to the whereabouts of Howze, with whom they believed she has a relationship. Broussard advised she did not know Howze, nor knew of Howze’s whereabouts. Broussard, who is on probation for other charges, was advised by agents that she is not to have any contact with Howze, nor is she to harbor him from lawful arrest. Broussard and Howze were found together on Tuesday, June 23, in a locked residence, attempting to evade Vermilion Sheriff’s office narcotics agents.
- Kayman Spivey, (dob 6-14-96) of Erath , arrested and charged with possession of marijuana
- Jacob Smith, (dob 3-2-92) of Maurice, arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.
- Leroy Maturin Jr. (dob 6-11-82) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with two counts of failure to appear for trial, and possession of crystal methamphetamine.
- Robert Howze, (dob 8-31-83) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a schedule II narcotic, Failure to appear for arraignment, failure to register as a sex offender.
Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
