Three people arrested in Vermilion hotel

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
Agents received information that suspected illegal drug activity was being conducted in a local hotel room, agents set up surveillance to investigate the allegations. Upon gathering enough information, agents approached the room, and gained access to the room. After speaking with two of the female parties, and advising them of their Miranda rights, and why the agents were there, the two females advised they were waiting on a male subject to return. After a short wait, the male subject returned to the room. Agents identified themselves to him and also advised him of his Miranda rights. After receiving permission to search the room and person, agents located, crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
- Glenda Cunningham, (Date of birth11/1/58) of Erath was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Madonna Trahan (Date of birth 7/1/61) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contempt of court.
- James Nolan Sandoz II, (Date of birth 12/4/52) of Abbeville, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
