Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit arrests five in Kaplan
According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
In the early morning hours on Friday, Sept. 26, agents with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, along with the K-9 division, executed a search warrant at the residence identified as 17533 Dalton Rd. in Kaplan. Agents had the residence under surveillance for numerous days, and after obtaining enough evidence, applied for, and were granted a warrant to search the property. Upon execution of the warrant, agents located several subjects in the residence, along with numerous types of illicit drugs. Five persons in all were arrested:
- Wilson Hargrave (dob 10-24-87) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
- Kendall Meyers (dob 10-4-68) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Thomas Clark (dob 1-2-66) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession of Cocaine, possession of Clonazepam, possession with the intent to distribute Clonazepam, possession of Alprozolam, and possession f Suboxone.
- Elicia Collins (dob 8-12-87) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
- Neil Vincent (dob 5-12-76) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Suboxone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
