Sheriff’s deputies arrest Loreauville man allegedly involved in Saturday’s shooting that occurred at WOW lodge

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillion said a person has been arrested in relationship with Sunday night shooting at Woodmen of the World Lodge, but he may not have been the only shooter in the building that night.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested Bryson Provost from Loreauville and charged him with seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, and his bond total was just over $1 million. He bond is $150,000 on each charge.
Sheriff Couvillon said, with the help of the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Provost was arrested at his home in Loreauville without incident.
Through questioning, it was learned that Provost, who is 20, may not have been the only shooter at the party, Couvillon added.
When the Sheriff’s Office arrested Provost, they learned he had a bullet wound in his leg when he was brought to a nearby hospital.
“In the process of him allegedly shooting, he was shot as well,” Couvillon added. “With the investigation still ongoing, we have reason to believe there are two other shooters based on evidence recovered at the scene.”
Sheriff investigators are having trouble getting victims, who were shot, to come forward and give accurate detail on what happened early Sunday morning. Sheriff Couvillon said he spoke with district attorney Mike Harson to see if charges can be filed against those who are not willing to cooperate.
He wants them to know if they can be charged with obstruction of justice or accessory after the fact if they are holding back information about the shooting.
“My advice, if you know something about this crime, come forward,” the Sheriff said. If we find out that you did know and refused to come forward, we will be attempting to obtain warrants and arrest you.”
"If anyone has information on the shooting, they can call the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 898-4403.
