Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund Grant Applications Available

The Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund, a Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA), is accepting grant proposals that foster or extend the growth of the French language in public discourse, the arts or education.
There are two, $325 grants available to fund classroom projects, research, cultural activities and media projects that use spoken French in the community. Grants will be awarded based upon the quality of the proposals and their adherence to the Fund’s mission which is to grow the use of spoken Cajun and Creole.
Applications can be downloaded at www.cfacadiana.org/RichardGuidry or by emailing rgcclfund@gmail.com. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2014.
The Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund was established in memory of the late Richard Guidry, who was an author, educator and state supervisor of foreign languages. The mission is to support activities and projects that encourage, increase and improve the use of the multiple varieties of French languages and francophone cultures in Louisiana, especially the spoken use in public, the arts and education.
