Omega Protein donates 70 fans to the Abbeville Council on Aging

The Vermilion Parish Chamber of Commerce received a donation of 70 fans from Omega Protein, Inc. The fans were donated to the Council on Aging through the Chamber Cares Fan Drive.
“We were contacted to fill a need in the Parish and we stepped up, we challenge all businesses in Vermilion Parish to do the same,” says Peggy Vidrine with Omega Protein.
The fans were purchased and delivered by Stein’s in Abbeville and will be given to elderly in need throughout Vermilion Parish via the Council on Aging.
Chamber spokesperson, Leah Richard, says this donation will mean a lot in just a few short weeks, “Our summers here can be brutal so we wanted to start a project that would really resonate with people in Vermilion Parish. The donation of these fans by Omega is really a life-saving gift.”
The Chamber is still collecting fans for the elderly. You can give life-saving help to people right here at home by donating a fan or air conditioning unit. Just drop off the fan or A/C at the Chamber Office at 1907 Veterans Memorial Drive in Abbeville, Monday- Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m..
