Meth Lab found in Abbeville

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit located a meth lab in Abbeville that resulted in four arrests.
On Tuesday, agents with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics division conducted an investigation into a fully functioning meth lab within the city limits of Abbeville. After obtaining information in reference to the suspected lab, agents set up surveillance, and began their investigation. Once enough information was gathered, agents approached the residence with caution. Upon their approach, agents noticed a pungent chemical smell that they immediately related to methamphetamine production. Agents made contact with Jody and Kimberly Wooten of 1203 Clover St. and informed them of the ongoing investigation. After receiving permission to search, and mirandizing both parties it was confirmed that a functioning meth lab was in process under the tree just outside of the residence.
Agents removed all persons within the residence, which included two young children, ages two and one, due to the overwhelming chemical order emitting from the lab. State Police haz-mat was contacted, and a perimeter was set up for public safety. Upon arriving, state police haz-mat was able to neutralize the lab. It was noticed that several other items used for processing the drug in the past, were discarded within the shed. Agents also contacted the Office of Child Services, who arrived on scene and determined that the environment was unsafe for the two young children to be in. After a total clean up of the location was conducted, agents made the following arrests:
