Gun fire in Abbeville; one injured and stray bullet his business on Charity Street

There was gun fire that occurred in the city of Abbeville late Saturday and apparently one of the bullets from the shooting went threw a business window on Charity Street.
The Abbeville Police Department are investigating two shootings that reportedly occurred on Saturday. One of the shootings occurred on Alley Street, which is near J.H. Williams Middle School.
The Abbeville police said shots were fired into a vehicle and the vehicle hit a second vehicle.
A separate shooting took place on Graceland Avenue injuring one person who was transported to Abbeville General and then to a Lafayette Hospital.
The police had not released the name of the person shot as of press time.
When James Noel Sr. walked into his office at Sunrise Realty (in front of the Courthouse) Monday morning he saw sheetrock dust on the floor of his office. He thought someone moved a piece of furniture and hit the wall.
Then a bullet was found on the floor near the wall. Noel began looking around and noticed there was a hole in his mini-blind behind his desk.
He lifted the mini-blind and saw the large hole in the window.
It is believed to be a 9 millimeter bullet that came through the glass, it hit the wall and landed on the floor.
The Abbeville Police were called to the business. It looks like the bullet may have been a stray bullet, possibly from on of the two shootings that took place on Alley or Graceland, that flew in the air and came down in Noel’s office. The trajectory of the bullet hole is downward.
A 9 MM bullet can fly more than a mile in the air before it lands. The two shootings occurred just over a mile from Noel’s business.
No one was in the business at the time of the shooting.
