Grand Jury hands down indictments in connection to two Abbeville deaths

A Vermilion Parish grand jury handed down separate indictments Wednesday afternoon to three people in connection to the deaths of two men in Abbeville.
The grand jury indicted Derrick Mitchell on 1st Degree Murder charges in the death of Darrell Broussard Jr., who was killed in Abbeville on Dec. 20, 2012.
Mitchell is also indicted on charges of aggravated burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen things. Abbeville Police Department Lt. David Hardy said Mitchell did not have a bond set.

Mitchell will be brought back to Vermilion Parish, where he will await trial.
The same grand jury also indicted Donathan Comeaux. He faces manslaughter charges in the death of Jacolby Andrews. Comeaux was also indicted on criminal conspiracy charges.
Comeaux’s bond is set at $300,000. Hardy said Comeaux will turn himself in, according to his attorney.
