Funeral arrangements made for Gueydan teen

Gueydan: The family and friends Kaitlin Elizabeth Venissat are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on November 21, 2014 at the age of 17. Kaitlin was born in Lafayette, LA, to Russel and Rhonda Leger Venissat on May 9, 1997. Kaitlin was a very outgoing and loving person. She was a cheerleader, as well as a member of the band at Gueydan High. Kaitlin was also a member of the Beta Club. She also represented Gueydan High School at Girls State. Kaitlin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kaitlin is survived by her parents, Russel and Rhonda Venissat of Gueydan, LA; two brothers, Rusty and Taylor Venissat of Gueydan, LA; her grandparents, Johnny and Torchy Venissat of Gueydan, LA, Wilda Camel of Lafayette, LA; her special friend, Mason Reed of Gueydan, LA; numerous aunts and uncles.
Kaitlin was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Kenneth Camel.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Glenn Bourque officiating. Burial will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 AM until the time of her funeral service.
