Erath man arrested in Morgan City for construction fraud

MORGAN CITY — A 27-year-old Erath man was arrested by Morgan City police Monday for home improvement fraud after he stole more than $2,500 for services he did not perform in the Morgan City area, Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
Shane M. LeBlanc, 27, of Lamas Street in Erath, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. Monday on a warrant for home improvement fraud and a warrant for theft more than $500.
LeBlanc was located at the Ascension Parish Jail and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stemmed from an investigation by detectives which indicated that Leblanc had conducted business in the Morgan City area as “Cajun Construction” and had committed the theft of more than $2,500 for services that were not performed, the release stated. LeBlanc was jailed.
