Erath alderman now new school board member

Two weeks ago, school board member Ricky Broussard, from the Erath area, resigned due to family issues.
At his final meeting, Broussard recommended Marshal Broussard as a possible replacement.
On Wednesday, instead of following Broussard’s recommendation, the school board voted to name Erath alderman Chris Hebert as Broussard’s replacement.
Hebert is expected to be sworn in this Wednesday’s at a special school board meeting at Abbeville High School.
Before he is sworn in, he has to resign as the alderman in Erath.
Hebert will occupy the seat until November when a special election will be held to fill the remaining three year term of Broussard. Hebert is expected to run in that election.
After Hebert resigns as an Erath alderman, someone will be named to replace him until a special election is called in November.
