Erath 4th of July Association gives to town’s schools

Each year the Erath 4th of July Association works diligently to host the town's annual fun filled family festival.
Not only does the group bring this anticipated event to the community, they've always turned around to "give back" to the community in various ways. In the past, this hard working group has donated to the Acadian Museum, the Town of Erath, to various local groups in need, and to the schools. Again this year, all four schools were offered the opportunity to complete grants to apply for their school needs.
The week of June 7, the Erath 4th of July Association announced that the four Erath schools were their 2016 "Giving Back to the Community" recipients. All four Erath area schools were given $500 in grant funding to be spent on earmarked projects submitted to the organization.
Upon receiving grants, the group decided to help with funding for these schools’ projects. On Friday, June, the four local school principals were on hand to accept their grant money from Erath 4th of July President Robert B. Vincent and Treasurer Claudette Lacour and board member Jackie Vincent. The leaders who attended the grant donation session included, Marc Turner from Erath High, Wendy Stoute from Erath Middle, Karla Toups from Dozier Elementary, and Dawn Amy from LeBlanc Elementary.
Dozier Elementary has a plans to eventually build a school pavilion. This funding will go toward that. LeBlanc Elementary will use theirs toward technology, while both the Erath Middle Jr. Beta Club and the Erath High Sr. Beta Club will use theirs toward the National Beta Conventions this summer.
