Commercial fishing boat catches fire in Intracoastal City

Fire Department from around Vermilion Parish responded Wednesday evening to a report of fire onboard a 167-foot commercial fishing vessel.
The “Isle Derniere” was docked at the Omega Protein plant in Intracoastal City.
Crew members were able to contain the fire to the galley and one bunk room of the vessel until firefighters from Seventh Ward, District 13, Meaux/Nunez and Abbeville arrived and extinguished the blaze.
In all, 10 firefighters and four fire trucks responded.
