Celebrity Hole In-One kicks off Chitimacha Louisiana Open

With the 24th Annual Chitimacha Louisiana Open coming to Broussard next week, and week-long activities are about to begin to kick-off the golf tournament.
The first activity will be the Celebrity Hole-In-One Competition on Sunday afternoon.
The event starts tournament week with 10 local celebrities, who will all take a swing for their favorite charity. If anyone sinks the shot, their charity will receive $10,000. If no one achieves a hole-in-one, the celebrity closest to the hole will win $1,500 for their charity. This year’s field includes:

“We’ve got a great field playing for charity on Sunday and then we will follow that with the Pro-Am party here at the casino on Monday. The Chitimacha Louisiana Open raises so much money for local charities and we are proud to do everything we can to support this event,” said Anthony Patrone, CEO and General Manager of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel.

The relationship between the Louisiana Open and the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana is one of the top 5 tournament/sponsor relationships in all of the PGA sanctioned events.
In addition to its charitable component, the tournament also provides a significant boost to the local economy.
“When you consider the hotels, cars, food, gas, it quickly adds up. Add in the operating budget for the tournament of nearly a $1 million and the expected immediate impact is $2 million for one week,” said Danny Jones, the tournament’s executive director.
According to LCVC, the final impact over the course of the entire year is expected to be well over $7 million dollars.
