Cassidy declared winner of U.S. Senate race; Lege wins constable race

The National media called the Senate race between Bill Cassidy and Mary Landrieu 30 minutes after the polls closed.
The Associated Press declared Cassidy the winner.
With half the polls reported, Cassidy had 55,721 votes to Landrieu’s 38,994 votes.
In the U.S. Representative race, former Gov. Edwin Edwards (6,533 votes) lost to Garret Graves (12,344) with most of the polls reporting.

Constable race
B.J. “Bub” Lege wins the Constable, Ward 6 race in Cow Island.
He had 432 votes (60 percent), while Austin Romero had 290 votes (40 percent).
